This is how I know the transplant has begun to take root: I've actually got time to construct projects that help life go a little smoother. This took me a couple hours of interrupted focus, lost tool parts, and scrounging for a cigar box. But the counter should look a lot better now.

What about cutting rectangles in the top such that the phones could sit standing-up through the holes and the cords wouldn't show at all (except perhaps for the red one, a bit, since it doesn't charge near the bottom), and as if they're on display?

The main point for this project, was to quickly complete a project before I lost interest and left another half-finished project laying about. I made it as generic as possible, so in the futute I could put a powersquid inside, and power more objects, with battery chargers, camcorder, GPS and what-not.

So having a bit of cord showing is pretty low down the list. But in the future, a lego-based charger station could prop them up and also link them to the desktop computers.

That makes sense, then. It does look nicer than just the bare cords would. :)
